How do I use Result Local?

We've made ResultLocal.com as intuitive and easy-to-use as possible. Below is a quick overview (which is all that's necessary to use our service :) ) of how to use our local search engine.

The "What?" Field Explained

The query to search for. Enter the type of business, service, product, information....whatever you'd like to find locally.

The "Where?" Field Explained

The location you would like the results displayed to be near. This input allows a combination of many different location variables.

You may enter one or more of these location types:

zip code
city, state
city, state, zip code
street, zip code
street, city, state
street, city, state, zip code

Once both fields have been filled in, click "Search". The top listings are displayed, and listings are ranked by distance from your location.

The distance is calculated by one of the following methods:

When you enter a street address along with your search term, this is the distance from that particular street address to each result within a 50 mile radius.
When you enter your search term along with a city or a city and state, this is the distance from the city center to the business you're looking for.

You may also view a map of the top ten local search results, map an individual listing, or browse to the website associated with the listing.
